My story so far...

This year I made a resolution to lose about 70 pounds. I got married over Christmas, and at my wedding I was at my heaviest weight in a decade at 208 pounds. I was so ecstatic to be getting married that I wasn't bothered about my plus-size dress, but once all the chaos was over, it was time to get myself back under control.

I started counting WW points and working out at Curves in mid-January. I also started running again and training to run 5K. I ran my first (and so far, only) 5K on April 25, in 35:06.

I lost about 30 pounds on my own from January to May, but then I started to lose focus and steam. I decided to join a meeting to re-kindle my Week One fire.

I joined Weight Watchers on June 7, with an official starting weight of 182.2. I haven't set a final goal. I'm going to work at the program's pace, first 5 percent, then 10, then I'll figure it out from there. I was down 5.6 pounds at my weigh-in last night, so I got my 5-pound star in my first week.
